These are my personal suggestions to enjoy a day by foot or by car from Malgrate:

First option, by foot:

You can walk to Lecco and take a boat to Bellagio and enjoy the lake from the lake:

Here you can take a boat to go and come back to Bellagio

Second option, by car:

Here you can take a boat with your car and go to Varenna

Walk a bit in Varenna and visit: Villa Monastero https://g.co/kgs/XN3oQ9t

Take the car and go to Castello di Vezio, if you like to walk a bit (10/15 minutes) you will see an amazing view of the lake from the castel.

Than you can come back by car from the other side,
